In Times of Crisis, Super Sunday Packs a Punch

January 22, 2009
Answer or make calls this Sunday, Jan. 25. This Sunday, you have the power to make a difference in the lives of Israelis who live in Netivot-Sedot Negev, Philadelphia's Partnership 2000 communities. These men, women and children, who live mere miles from Israel's border with Gaza, have been caught in the cross-fire of Hamas rocket attacks. They depend on our support to enhance security and emergency-readiness programs -- support made possible by the success of the 2009 Jewish Community Fund.

Super Sunday, Federation's largest annual fundraising event, kicks off this annual appeal. You can help realize a goal of $1 million and empower us to say yes to Jews in Israel, in Greater Philadelphia and around the world who depend on us for their health, well-being and safety.

There are different ways to participate in Super Sunday. It's not too late to volunteer. Go to: and volunteer for one of two phoning sessions, either 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. View the online training video, print out your certificate of completion, then come to Federation's Radnor Campus, 272 S. Bryn Mawr Ave. in Bryn Mawr. If you don't have computer access, simply call the Super Sunday Hotline at 215-832-0630 and register by phone.

This year, you don't have to wait to take the call -- you can phone in your 2009 Jewish Community Fund commitment all day.

Call 610-581-8820 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, and a volunteer will record your pledge.
