Struggling to paint, my brush moves
hesitantly on the bare canvas.
I thought I could find you through my art, but it only makes me focus on the
sadness and the pain of your absence.
I find some solace knowing you now
live in my heart, but still have trouble
accepting you have left us.
Please know you continue to influence me,
I now find myself examining my
relationships differently, and try to remember how you treated your family and
friends so dearly and were always
there for all of us.
