A light in the Jewish community went out on July 2 with the passing of Holocaust survivor, Nobel Peace Prize winner and activist Elie Wiesel, and the community both in Philadelphia and worldwide mourned his passing.

One way the Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center, housed at KleinLife, has been able to sustain the programs they hold is through large- and small-scale fundraising events, like the summer music festival.

A few Philadelphia-area synagogues have taken advantage of the summery location of these synagogues and formed partnerships to hold services together as congregations, bringing their shuls to the shore.
