Gratz is all this and more...
Gratz College has been a pioneer in higher education and Jewish education since it opened its doors in 1895. Gratz is the oldest pluralistic college for Jewish studies in North America. It also is the oldest independent college for Jewish studies. In addition, Gratz holds the distinction of being the first institution of advanced Jewish learning to accept women on par with men.
While Gratz is rooted in history and tradition, its focus is on the future and innovation. Today, Gratz still is proud to list many “firsts” among its offerings, including the first online master's program in Holocaust and Genocide Studies.
Gratz, noted for its offerings in Jewish scholarship and professions, as well as its excellent faculty, caters to the educational community as a whole. Gratz College offers a Master of Arts in Education, providing advanced training and credentials to hundreds of certified teachers in public and private schools. Gratz continues to expand its offerings to meet the needs of students and professionals seeking to advance their careers.
Gratz College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the State of Israel, and is a partner of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. The institution is guided with transparency by its Board of Governors.
