The Jewish holiday of Tu B'Shvat marks a cutoff point in the annual agricultural cycle in which the importance of fruit-bearing trees is celebrated both legally and spiritually. Following in the traditions of mystical masters of the middle ages, Jews today often observe the holiday with a feast of fruit and nuts.
