Federation's Center for Social Responsibility directs funding to initiatives that address the most pressing needs of community members. This year the center provided:
• $150,000 to enable Jewish Family and Children's Service to hire two case managers to provide outreach to low-income Jews;
• $42,000 to help frail, elderly Holocaust Survivors receive more than 5,500 hours of needed assistance with house cleaning, bathing and dressing that enables them to age with dignity;
• $322,392 for 18 programs aimed at alleviating poverty for low-income frail seniors, immigrants and refugees;
• $250,000 to help unemployed and underemployed Jews find meaningful employment and gain self-sufficiency.
