International Symposium on Lithuanian Jewish Heritage

The history of Lithuanian communities has been marked by a continuity of religious traditions and cultural dynamism. Join Lithuanian and American scholars, community leaders and government officials to explore Lithuanian Jewish heritage.

Find insight into Lithuanian Jewish history, understand the losses during World War II, and learn how to preserve and revive Jewish heritage in today’s Lithuania and among Lithuanian Jews worldwide.

The International symposium will include presentations by:

-          Sarunas Birutis, Lithuanian Minister of Culture

-          Antony Polonsky, Professor of Holocaust Studies at Brandeis University

-          Eliyahu Stern, Professor of Jewish History, Yale University

-          Darius Staliunas, Deputy Director of the Institute of Lithuanian History

-          Sarunas Liekis, Vytautas Mahnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania

-          Saulius Suziedelis, Professor Emeritus of history at Millersville University in PA

-          Herbert Block, Assistant Vice President, Jewish Joint Distribution Committee

-          Antanas Zabulis, Founder and President of the non-profit institution “Northern Jerusalem”
