All About Honey
September 3, 2014 1:00 PM
Learn everything you wanted to know about honey, just in time for Rosh Hashanah and the High Holidays, at the next Adult Culture & Trips (ACT) Luncheon, sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Cumberland, Gloucester & Salem Counties.
Ned Morgan, of the South Branch of the New Jersey Beekeepers Association and the Cumberland County 4-H Wannabees Beekeepers Club, will bring a bee observatory with live bees to show how they produce honey. His honey will also be available for purchase.
Apples and challah are customarily dipped in honey at the time of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) in the hope that we are granted a sweet year.
The luncheon will also feature, after the honey program, free flu shots courtesy of Rite Aid Pharmacy.
Reservations for the luncheon are $8 per person for Federation members and $10 per person for non-members. Reservations must be made no later than Friday, Aug. 29 by calling the Federation office at 856-696-4445.
