Norman G. Schneeberg, 94, a former chief of endocrinology at Philadelphia General Hospital, died March 1 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He was a resident of Philadelphia.

Schneeberg worked at Philadelphia General Hospital from 1957 to 1977, and at Jefferson Park Hospital from 1972 to 1995, where he also served as chief of endocrinology for some time.

He was a professor of medicine at Hahnemann Medical College from 1974 until 1998, when he retired.

Schneeberg earned a bachelor's degree from Temple University in 1935 and his medical degree there in 1939.

He wrote Essentials of Clinical Endocrinology, a textbook, published in 1970. He also published more than 50 papers on medicine and medical history in U.S. and British journals.

Schneeberg is survived by his wife, Helen Schneeberg; daughters Karen Goodheart and Susan Bronstein; and three grandsons.
