Diller Teen Fellows: An Experience to Impact a Lifetime

0

This winter, for the very first time, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is honored to partner with the Diller Teen Fellows Program, an incredible experiential learning, traveling and growth experience for 10th- and 11th-graders.

The program aims to build the next generation of committed Jewish leaders: to inspire and empower a global network of teens and equip them with the skills, confidence, knowledge and Jewish values they need to help create a better world. Each year, hundreds of young people take part in the Diller training program from 32 communities across the U.S., Canada, South Africa, Australia, South America, Europe and Israel. And this year, it could include YOUR teen!

Here’s how it works. Over several months, 10 select Greater Philadelphia teens will come together monthly for a one-of-a-kind leadership experience. Through award-winning programming related to the core values of leadership, Jewish identity, Israel and tikkun olam, the fellows will build a meaningful partnership with teens in our Israeli partner city of Herzilya.

This includes two exchange opportunities. In March, the Herzilya teens will visit Philadelphia for a 10-day encounter of history, life and culture in our city. And this summer, the experience culminates with a three-week trip to Israel filled with travel, exploring Herzilya, and the incredible Global Diller Conference, where we will join over 650 Diller Teens from across six continents.

The Diller Teen Fellows Program inspires participants to engage more deeply with their Jewish identities through immersive, fun experiences. Its unique curriculum focuses on Jewish pluralism, peoplehood and international partnership. The program’s 3,500 alumni have emerged with an enhanced sense of belonging and commitment to their Jewish communities, both locally and globally.
