Marjorie and Eric Deutsch of Dallas, formerly of Philadelphia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Nicole Allison, to Brian Nathan Bookatz, son of Barbara and Stephen Bookatz of Plano, Texas.

Nicole is a cum laude graduate of Muhlenberg College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and history. She also earned a Master of Education degree from Boston University. Nicole teaches first grade at North Hills Preparatory in Irving, Texas.

Brian is a graduate of Southern Methodist University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in cinema and television. He works for DG FastChannel in Dallas.

Nicole is the granddaughter of Lillian and Eleazer Deutsch of East Brunswick, N.J.; and the late Jannette and Myer Zevin of Philadelphia. Brian is the grandson of Selma Bookatz and the late Dr. Allan Bookatz of Dallas; and the late Bessie and Louis Silverman of St. Louis.

The couple is planning a March wedding at the Omni Mandalay in Las Colinas, Texas.
