ROBERT DELUCA, age 76, died on December 29, 2013.  DeLuca was a longtime Philadelphia area business and community leader.  He graduated from Central High School (1956), holding a B.S. in Economics from Penn's Wharton School (1960), and an M.B.A. from Temple University (1968-year not confirmed).  He began his career with RCA, Welding Engineers, and Welex.  For over 35 years, DeLuca was an independent management consultant to the financial services, manufacturing, and other sectors (Robert M. DeLuca & Associates, DeLuca Consulting, Employee Improvement Solutions).  A skilled coach and mentor, DeLuca specialized in Human Resource Development.  A member of Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel, he and his family had a multi-generational affiliation with Congregation Rodeph Shalom (RS).  He served on the RS board of trustees and was a teacher in the youth education program.  His mother, BERTHA T. DeLUCA, was also a teacher at RS.  His father-in-law, DAVID H. ROSENBLUTH, served on the RS board for more than 20 years.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, BARBARA (nee ROSENBLUTH); his children, ERIC DeLUCA and MEREDITH MALTIN; and 2 grandchildren. An athlete and lifelong Phillies and Eagles fan, he was an intramural doubles handball champion at Penn, and coached in the Old York Road Little League for several years.  He took pride in his son's varsity football career at Cheltenham High School and joy in the baseball games of his grandsons.
