Edith Creskoff (nee Milgram),  peacefully passed away in her Philadelphia apartment on August 30, 2013, at the age of 105 after a brief illness.  She was born in Philadelphia on June 5, 1908 and lived there her entire life.  Edith had two older brothers, Joseph and Jack, and four older sisters, Rena Pious, Fanny Lubowitz, Rose Weisglass and Sara Milgram.  After graduating high school, Edith worked as a legal secretary for the patent law firm of Caesar and Rivise.  She married Leonard Creskoff, an attorney in Philadelphia, in 1932 and they were married for 42 years until his death in 1974.  After Leonard died, Edith returned to work as a full time legal secretary, not retiring until age 83.  From then until now, she dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Edith was a great cook.  Her apple pie and knishes were famous.  She also adored card games and often played cards with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Edith loved the Jersey shore and she and Leonard built a home in Longport in 1959 where she entertained family and friends.  At age 91, Edith bought a computer and started writing her autobiography.  When finished, she called it "My 100 Year Journey." It was published and gives a remarkable insight to so much history, not only into her life, but also into history and the 20th century experiences of many first generation Americans. She is survived by many who loved and admired her, including sons David (Joyce) and Howard (BJ), daughter Susan Hirsch (Lawrence), grandchildren Hope Bookman (David), Nancy Maune (Vance), Daniel Creskoff, Stacy Creskoff, Lauren Kline (Chris), Rebecca Creskoff (Michael Glassner), Daria (Owen Langbart), Brad Hirsch (Margaret) and great-grandchildren Josh, Jenna and Maggie Kline, Sadie Glassner, Jacob Hirsch, Jesse Bookman, Olivia and Luke Maune.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edith's memory to Congregation Rodeph Shalom or a charity of your choice.
