The 2012 Federation Main Event provided our Jewish community with a unique opportunity to perpetuate the memory of Joseph Smukler, a man who embodied Federation’s core values of tzedakah and tikkun olam.
On Sunday, Nov. 4, more than 600 members of our community joined Federation at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown to stand up and be counted at an incredible event that included a performance by Jay Leno and the presentation to Stephen B. Klein of the Joseph Smukler Outstanding Community Leadership Award.
Philadelphia’s Lions of Judah, generous and passionate philanthropists who make a minimum gift of $5,000 to the Federation annual campaign, roared on two separate yet equally special occasions in recent months.
