Is it not beyond believing
that I should love a man so much?
Past a dozen years of grieving
I still feel such -
a sense of loss.
I’ve built a wall of memories
against the ravages of time
to ease my ailing, failing heart.
How we met and how we married.
Nights of rapture - days of delight.
You are gone, but I have tarried.
I wish my life on earth was through
so I could be, once more, with you.
