CARLITZ

 

ESTHER CARLITZ, widow of Irwin Carlitz, died on August 25, 2013, just 2 months shy of her 95th birthday.  Her career went from bookkeeper to comparison shopper to charm school teacher and fashion coordinator/commentator.  She started Penn StateUniversity, Ogontz Campus, at age 65, taking two evening classes per semester, and graduated cum laude at age 75.  She continued to be active by writing poetry, articles, and giving lectures to the residents of Holy Redeemer Lafayette Life Care Community into her 90s.

She is survived by her daughter CATHY (SCOTT) SILVER, son WILLIAM (TAMMY) CARLITZ, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and her brother, SHELLEY (ELINOR) FELDMAN.  Contributions in her memory may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, Development Department, 521 Moredon Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
