All About Tefillin

'Savor the Flavors'
The Kehillah of Lower Merion invites the community to participate in "Savor the Flavors," a Jewish food series, opening at 2 p.m., at the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy, 272 S. Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr. Chefs from Max & David's restaurant in Elkins Park will prepare kosher-for-Passover desserts for tasting. An American Musician
Barry Seldes, author of Leonard Bernstein: The Political Life of an American Musician, will examine Bernstein's career against the backdrop of Cold War America -- blacklisting by the State Department and voluntary exile from the New York Philharmonic in the early 1950s -- and the factors allowing his return.
