Appropriately, given this time of year, "Stars" has his heart in the right place -- and prefers chocolate-cherry cordials, if you're so inclined -- and these "Stars" are at the heart of the community. Such as?
The Marilyn and
J. Robert Birnhak Foundation, which just gave a $1 million gift to
the Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life in Horsham, targeted for the establishment of the Birnhak Transitional Care Program. That is one heart-felt donation.
Citizen Jane: Forward-thinking
Jane Eisner -- she's that New York paper's editor -- is a jolly good Fellow: She's the first Fellow
in journalism at Wesleyan University, currently offering a seminar on "The Journalist as Citizen." John Peter Zenger would be proud.

| Kimberly Korn
|
It's a "calling": Kimberly Korn -- no Jimmy cracks, please -- a lawyer/singer from Holland (Pennsylvania, not the Dutch treat variety) recently joined up with the humanitarian "Musicians on Call," providing bedside concerts to assist in the healing process of those in health care facilities. One
of a kind that Kimberly, but, more importantly these days, 1 of 15 -- that's the honor bestowed
on her by being named to the New York Songwriter's Hall of Fame workshop. Korn recently worked it with
a performance at the Oxford Valley Mall.
Have problems with the bailout? Nothing compared to the economic woes foisted on the world by the troublemakers in The War Merchants, a new novel by Temple U. professor Gregg Feistman involving old Nazis and their nasties, including turning the global fiscal situation
upside-down. To the rescue: Character Cassidy Jevon, a Philadelphia public-relations specialist who, obviously, knows more than writing a good release.
Emily Acker's "Milk and Honey," a sweetheart of a winner of the 2009 Young Playwrights Inc. National Playwriting Competition, stages a local appearance when the play will be part of the Philadelphia Young Playwrights' 2010 Professional Productions, next month at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre. "Milk and Honey" -- don't think Molly Picon here -- focuses on soccer and the travails of a young Israeli and Palestinian with different goals.

| Ari Lipsky
|
Let the games begin! Bet Ari Lipsky can't wait. The Langhorne resident now majoring in public relations at Syracuse University must be a pretty good skate: He's one of just 50 college kids nationwide chosen for an NBC communications internship at the Winter Games. Let it snow? Sure, why not: The Neshaminy High grad is on the ski team at Syracuse U.
A blessing on your head/Mazel tov! Mazel tov!/To see your daughter wed
and celebrate the Big 50 yourself! Well, okay, it didn't make the final cut
of "Fiddler on the Roof," but the cake-cutting sure fit Miriam
and Sheldon Einhorn, who celebrated their own 50 years of
marriage by hosting one for daughter Janet and new son-in-law Craig Spielman in their home. "Stars" can't wait to see how they top this for Number 75! Cupid -- eat your heart out!
