Funding Process Announced for Current Fiscal Year

The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia announces a new funding process for the 12-month period of September 2010 to August 2011.

The Federation is focused on funding a limited number of high priority/high impact areas within the community. Several funding streams are available.

The Center for Social Responsibility
· Safety Net Services
· Self-Sufficiency for the Poor
· Senior Services
· Social Action

The Center for Jewish Life & Learning
· Adult Education
· College Services
· Community Building
· Day School (Collaborative Programming)
· Supplementary Schools Education
· Youth Program

The Center for Israel & Overseas
· Basic Needs (Food and Medication)
· Disadvantaged Youth
· Israel-Diaspora and the Unity of the Jewish People*
· Security/Emergency Services

Nonprofit organizations in the five-county Greater Philadelphia area are invited to apply for grant funding using the criteria outlined in our Requests for Proposals in the Center for Jewish Life and Learning and the Center for Social Responsibility and the Israel-Diaspora priority area for the Center for Israel and Overseas. Israeli organizations classified as a MALKAR and nongovernmental organizations in other overseas communities may apply for the other priorities of the Center for Israel and Overseas.

The RFPs (at www.jewishphilly.org/rfp) list the goals and objectives for each priority area and the services the centers intend to fund. Federation will evaluate each proposal for quality of service and efficiency.

Proposals are due no later than 3:30 p.m. on Monday, March 22.

Information meetings for local agencies are scheduled to take place on Thursday, Feb. 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and on Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., at 2100 Arch St., Philadelphia. RSVP to Deirdre Mulligan at: dmulligan@jfgp.org.
