A Circumspect Crowd on Hand at Film Fest

November 12, 2009 - Michael Elkin, Arts & Entertainment Editor

Final cut: "Circumcise Me," Yisrael Campbell's unorthodox documentary about his path from Catholicism to observant Jew living and working as a comedian in Israel, attracted a huge audience for the Philly native on opening night at the Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival, held at the Gershman Y. Reel fans (from left) are Sherry N. Rubin, executive director/ Gershman Y; Judith Golden, PJFF chairperson; the star himself; and guest speaker Ruth Perlmutter, also the festival's artistic director.

Hey, did Sherry spring for the popcorn? A question for the ages, as Rubin is joined by Lou Coffey -- well, we know what they drank -- Gershman Y board chair; and Gershman Y benefactor Elaine Levitt.
