Dr. James and Beth Zimmerman of Boca Raton, Fla.; and Robert and Jackie Gilberg of Wynnewood announce the engagement of their daughter, Jamie Gilberg, to Brett Merves, son of Arlene and Brian Merves of Philadelphia.
Jamie earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a medical degree from George Washington University. She will begin a residency in pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Brett holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He works for a drug development company in Blue Bell.
The couple's five-year relationship began at summer camp. Last month, Brett proposed to Jamie in Puerto Rico.
The couple, who lives in Philadelphia, is planning a fall 2010 wedding.
