Something Good, Any Way You Cut It
February 12, 2009
Arthur Powell of Gladwyne and his daughter Carol P. Heller of Chadds Ford cut the blue-and-white ribbon for the new Powell Center for Lifelong Jewish Learning at Temple Brith Achim during a Jan. 11 dedication ceremony attended by several hundred people, including (from left) Rabbi Eric J. Lazar; State Sen. Daylin Leach (D-District 17) and his daughter, Brennan Alice Leach; Richard Molish, regional president of the Union for Reform Judaism, Pennsylvania Council, Philadelphia Federation; and U.S. Congressman Joseph Sestak (D-District 7), standing behind the ribbon. The Powell family donated more than $1 million toward the construction of the 6,500-square-foot addition to the King of Prussia synagogue.
