What Is the Price of Peace for Israel?

May 15, 2008

Dore Gold
Ambassador Dore Gold, president of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, and Leonard Fein, founder of Moment magazine, will present distinctly different views on Israel's quest for peace with her Mideast neighbors during an 8 p.m., program on June 2 at the Gershman Y, at the corner of Pine and Broad Sts. The program, the last in a three-part Gratz College Speaker's Series, sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, will be moderated by Edward A. Turzanski, a senior fellow of the Foreign Policy Research Institute and a national-security analyst at La Salle University.

Ambassador Gold, who served as the 11th permanent representative of Israel to the United Nations, and served as an adviser to Israeli prime ministers Ariel Sharon and Benjamin Netanyahu, will discuss such obstacles on the path to peace as the looming threats of Iran's nuclear program; the rise of Islamic radicalism; the Hamas/Fatah division; and the implications of a two-state solution, along with Fein, who's also the founder of Mazon: A Jewish Approach to Hunger and the National Coalition for Jewish Literacy.

Leonard Fein

Turzanski brings to the program significant expertise gleaned through his years of service with the U.S. government in the field of intelligence throughout the Middle East. He currently serves as national-security and intelligence analyst for Comcast CN-8.

Tickets for the event are $25 per person and are available at the door.
