The Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey Region of AJC (American Jewish Committee) presented its 2017 Civic Achievement Award to Henry Nicholas, president of Philadelphia Hospital & Health Care Employees District 1199C, on Dec. 14 at The Warwick Hotel Rittenhouse Square. A lifelong activist, Nicholas stood alongside Martin Luther King Jr. and other civil rights movement leaders in the 1960s.
