On May 6, thousands of people turned out in Valley Forge to celebrate Israel’s 70th birthday with the Jewish Federation. Family-friendly festivities filled the afternoon: Children enjoyed face painting and rowdy games of gaga while adults enjoyed wine and olive oil tastings. All ages took to the dance floor when Israeli cover band Capaim took the stage, but the highlight of the day was a parade and fabulous performance by the Quaker City String Band. Overall, it was the perfect day for the greater Philadelphia community to come together to celebrate and commemorate the Jewish homeland of Israel.
